The Battle Plan Show Band started back in the 70s opening up for R&B artist of that era. The band was founded by Al Battle and his brother John Battle in 1969. By 1973 Yvonne Battle, Carla Battle and Richard Battle joined the band, and made it a family group. The Battle Plan caught the eye of RCA Recording Artist Karl Russell, and the Hues Corporation, and was asked to be its backup band for live shows. By the mid to late 70s The Battle Plan Show Band had been around the country 3 times opening up for such acts as Dionne Warwick, The OJays, The Temptations, SOS, Morris Day and the Time, Cameo, Slave, just to name a few. By 1980 The Battle Plan moved to California to record for Soni Boo Records, and released their first single, Take a chance, the song was met with a mild reception on the west coast, but in the Midwest, did 100.000 copies in northern Ohio. By 2000, Yvonne Battle was replaced by Wanda Rash formerly of Roger Trottman and Zapp. Wanda became the lead singer with her soft yet powerful soulful vocals; She also plays the flute and percussions and write her own songs. Then Craig McMullen, the original lead guitarist for The Late Curtis Mayfield Joined the Battle Plan as its Lead Musician, and developed its new funky sound. Then came Marcelyn Forte on keyboards, who was discovered in Columbus Ohio at a local concert Featuring Lakeside, she was with the opening band, and John Battle asked her to Join the Battle Plan. Then Bill Brown Joined the Band and replaced Richard Battle as the Drummer. Al Battle met Bill Brown while on tour with Greyship Davis Rock Band in London England and asked Bill to get on board with the Plan, bill said yes and the New Battle Plan Show Band was on its way. The Battle Plan Show Band has over 40 Years of experience in the entertainment business and we expect to see many more years of fine work from these masterful stage professionals.
